Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla: A History of American Ice Cream
Published in Hardcover by Popular Press (April, 1996)
Author: Anne Cooper Funderburg
Average review score:

Yum!
Not only was this one of the quirkiest and funniest things I've read in a long time, but it's downright informative, too! Funderburg must have gone through so much research to bring the complete history of ice cream to light. A real treat!

Christianity Explored: The Book
Published in Paperback by Authentic Media (December, 2002)
Authors: Rico Tice and Barry Cooper
Average review score:

Christanity Explored by Rico Tice and Barry Cooper
This book is an unashamed punchy explanation of what the Christian faith is about. Anyone who thinks the Christian faith is dull, hypocritical or for the gullible should read it to have their preconceptions challenged. What I like best about it is that Cooper and Tice allow their charming,self-deprecating characters to shine through with plenty of humour and relevant references to their own interests in cinema and sport. It should be added, that this is never at the expense of the Biblical truths- though I suspect that people over a certain age might not be au fait with references to RADIOHEAD or THE MATRIX! Not only is the book challenging, it is also unintimidatingly easy to understand and refreshingly unsentimental and sharp. Give this as a gift to your non-Christian friend, but also read it yourself to remind you of the joy of the incredible love of Jesus.

Christmas Stories for the Very Young

Authors: Sally Grindley and Helen Cooper

Not Just for the VERY Young
Why is this out of print!? Every child should have a chance to hear these modern but timeless stories and enjoy the festive illustrations. Most of the stories, each written by "top children`s writers," (Angela Bull, Adele Geras, Chris Powling, Mary Rayner, Dyan Sheldon, Martin Waddell) are entertaining and thought-provoking. They feature people (and animals) of color, as well as fantasy. I rather enjoy the Nativity told from a sheep`s point of view. And the one about the king who has everything tells a most appropriate message, especially at this time of year. My sons` favorite is about a dragon who learns about Christmas from a seven-year-old girl and gives up his people-eating ways. We even read this when it is not Christmastime.

darius cooper: an up and coming author!
this book was the in-depth analysis of this great Director's work. Cooper is one of the first authors to really deconstruct the films of Satyajit Ray into a consolidated, comprehensive, and meaningful text. I hope to see more of this up and coming author sooner!

Clinical Social Work Practice: An Integrated Approach

Authors: Joan Granucci Lesser and Marlene G. Cooper
Average review score:

The Most Comprehensive Clinical Social Work text to date
Professors Joan Granucci Lesser and Marlene Cooper have shown themselves to be the newest dynamic duo of clinical social work. This text, one of the most refreshing and comprehensive in the field, will surely become a standard read for all social work students in the years to come.

Refreshing, consice, yet exceptionally detailed and well presented, "Clinical Social Work Practice" may very well define an entire generation of Social Work students. A must read for any student interested in the clinical social work field. Drs. Lesser and Cooper have shown themselves to be masters in the art of therapy, and their genius is apparent in their first textbook.

Collected Shorter Fiction - Volume 1
Published in Hardcover by Everymans Library (07 August, 2001)
Authors: Leo Tolstoy, Aylmer J. Maude, Niger J. Cooper, John Bayley, Louise Shanks Maude, and Nigel J. Cooper
Average review score:

A NICE ACCESSIBLE EDITION OF TOLSTOY'S SHORT FICTION
This is a really handsome book and with it's companion (vol. 2) makes a great addition to world lit. on your bookshelf. Some stories are novellas and some are only a page or two long but they're all artfully written and come from old established translations from late 19th century/early 20th. For anyone who wants to tackle WAR AND PEACE or ANNA KARENINA they should read a little of Tolstoy's more accessible short works and they can't go wrong here. My only complaint (and this goes for all Everyman series books) is that the text printed on the other side is annoyingly visible making reading a bit of a chore. This is a major blunder for any series of books purporting to capture the world's best literature but if you can ignore this (or at least get used to it) this would be a smart purchase because the price is right (if you buy it here).

A Companion to Aesthetics (Blackwell Companions to Philosophy)
Published in Paperback by Blackwell Publishers (August, 1995)
Authors: David Cooper, Crispin Sartwell, and Joseph Margolis
Average review score:

an undergraduate's analysis
I aquired this book at a APA meeting a few weeks ago and it has been a great reference - although it is not as indepth as it could be - but for the range of topics and philosophers it is very good - don't worry it is not just analytic philosophy - it covers continental too - and some non-western philosophies but not many - the style of writing is very clear and easy to read - it's worth the money -

The Complete Audiobook on Medical Transcription Part I of II
This book is electrifying. It carries the listener step by step through the processes of becoming a medical transcriptionist.

The listener will feel as if they are in the classroom. Each and every concept is taught in the manner of basic skills. Your questions are answered and you can always rewind to capture high peak understanding.

The language is given in lay person mannerism. This engages the listener in a way to decrease anxiety yet embrace all concepts.

You will be a professional transcriptionist upon completion.

I recommend it to any high school graduate, young adult and above whom wish to make a very good living at home!

The book focuses on an introduction to medical transcription, ergonomics, medical terminology, medical procedures, and grammar, live physician dictations and

A Condition of Limbo
Published in Paperback by AmErica House (27 February, 2001)
Author: Barbie Perkins-Cooper
Average review score:

A Touching, Powerful Story
This is a beautifully crafted story of love and caring. When Barbie's father is diagnosed with cancer, he reaches out to her for support. Their past has been a rocky road, but Barbie rises to the occasion.
While serving as his primary caregiver, she is shocked by the things that she learns on this journey. Making sure that her father receives the best medical care is over-shadowed by the knowledge she acquires on elder-care issues.
Her story is a tribute to her father as well as a source of information for the reader. Issues are addressed that we should all be aware of. Long-term nursing care, medicaid, dying with dignity, and many more issues are put out there for the reader to ponder, digest and hopefully become educated to. We will all have to face these problems in some way or another. There is a lot to learn.
I would highly recommend this book. It is both inspirational as well as informative.
